Sharing stories and our journey of nurturing potential

Sharing stories and our journey of nurturing potential

I am pleased to introduce the first edition of the PPS Foundation newsletter!

We have put this publication together – which you will receive every six months – to share the work and updates on our programmes and inspirational happenings within the PPS Foundation.

We consider ourselves a key stakeholder in the education system. In the five years of our existence, we are pleased to have continued with our work to nurture the potential of South African youth. This has been achieved through our programmes and initiatives, where we partnered with like-minded individuals and organisations.

There are many milestones and lives touched in the process. We profile some of our beneficiaries from the bursary programme and Graduate Internship Development Programme (GIDP) in the newsletter. As we forge ahead and keep building, we proudly look back on how far we have come since the journey to improve access to quality education began in 2016. Our directive is driven through the facilitation programmes that grow the pipeline of future graduate professionals that the South African economy is in dire need of.

Just like PPS Insurance, our primary sponsor, we believe in the ethos of mutuality and shared success. We often receive enquiries from people on how they can help us expand our reach and impact. To answer this, we share an article on the value of donating to the PPS Foundation, which is a public benefit organisation. Companies and individuals that donate at https://ppsfoundation.pps.co.za are eligible to receive a Section 18A certificate that can be used for tax deduction purposes.

In the last year, the COVID-19 pandemic became a significant catalyst that challenged organisations across the globe to adopt innovative approaches to ensure that the work in their space continues. This was no different for the PPS Foundation. Through the continued partnerships, we believe that together, we can create a legacy that will outlive us all.

We hope that you will enjoy reading this issue. We would like to hear from you, and you can do so by emailing us at infoppsfoundation@pps.co.za.

Regards,

Dr Sybil Seoka
